The Scholastic Book Fair is a 6-day event held in the main pod. New, reasonably priced books and other educational items are available for purchase. The chairperson acts as a liaison between the HSA and Scholastic, schedules volunteers for the event, arranges deposits with the HSA Treasurer, orders supplies and arranges publicity for the fair. Approximately 20 – 30 volunteers are needed to help with publicity, setting up and taking down displays, and cashiers. Volunteers receive a mall discount on their purchase.

Every year, Paradise Valley HSA holds a dinner and auction to raise funds. This fundraiser, along with the Walkathon provides the bulk of the HSAs income and enables HSA to fund its many programs. The Paradise Valley community has enthusiastically supported HSA auctions in the past. Many volunteer opportunities with varying time commitments are available for the dinner and auction.

This fun event is the biggest fundraiser of the year. Money is raised through voluntary donations from Paradise Valley families and sponsors. This committee organizes and implements the event that fosters community spirit, unity, and fun. The committee is responsible for gathering volunteers, treats, communication of event, pledge forms, and also, coordinates with the treasurer to record all funds received.

Lunch recess, once or twice a month
Funvisor is an extra curricular program open to all students that occurs during lunchtime. This program is part of Project Cornerstone, which hopes to provide an opportunity where adults can be role models and help the children build a deeper connection to the school and their peers. The goal is to have at least two parents—Funvisors—per day offering fun activities during the noontime.

Panther Den is the student shop that is setup once or twice a month. Students are awarded Panther Pride tickets by teachers and staff when a student demonstrates positive behavior. Its objective is to recognize and encourage good citizenship. Students may then collect and use their Panther Pride Tickets to purchase items from Panther Den

This committee photo copies and collates materials to go in an envelope that is sent home the first day of school. They also spend the first few weeks of school helping to process the forms that come back from the students. This person works closely with the chairs that have information included in the First Day Packets to ensure proper materials and data flow.

Room parents are the option of each teacher. Depending on the needs of each teacher, they usually help the teacher schedule other classroom volunteers to help with things like reading, math, copying, or party planning. The Room Parent Coordinator coordinates all the room parents. He/she provides information to the room parents and works with them to obtain volunteer support within each classroom for different HSA programs (e.g., Walkathon).

This committee is instrumental in helping all families at Paradise Valley to feel welcome. They accomplish this by inviting new families to Coffee with the Principal, inviting them to the most recent HSA event, providing them with information on the school and the HSA, answering any questions these families might have, taking them to coffee, and introducing them to other families. They also coordinate other events.

Each class is assigned a family and given details about that family. For instance, number of boys/girls, and ages of those children.
We are accepting new, unwrapped toys, clothes and gift cards. Please label each donation with your students name and teacher. Teachers and the front office will be collecting these. Donations can also be made directly on this website.
